The New England Folk Festival (NEFFA) is a three day festival held at Natick High School in Natick, MA.
Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the festival.You can also gain free admittance to the festival by volunteering for a few hours. NEFFA traces its roots all the way back to the "Fall Folk Festival" held in the

This weekend-long (August 4,5,6) bi-yearly festival features hundreds of handmade guitars by many of the nation's great luthiers. It is the same weekend as The Newport Folk Festival. Guitar players take note, especially if you are a Tommy Emmanuel fan. I got acquainted with Loren and Dick through their Syracuse-based Guitar League which they founded in April '05. Both have been long time devotees of fingerstyle guitar in the mold of Chet Atkins, Merle Travis and Australian guitarist phenomenon Tommy Emmanuel, himself a Chet protégé. Since 2002 both Loren and Dick have gotten acquainted with Tommy, studying privately with him and attending his workshops. His influence on their playing can't be missed. Their performances highlight fine playing, singing, and a familiar fingerstyle repertoire. Dick and Loren will probably also talk a little bit about the Syracuse Guitar League. Loren,by the way, holds the record of having been the youngest performer on the Grand Old Opry, playing "Yakety Ax" at age six. The song is still in his repertoire. www.guitarleague.com
